CJ Century Logistics _ Workplace
Project Data
Location : Klang, Selangor
Completion Date : Jan 2020
Client : CJ Century Logistics Sdn Bhd
The conventional organisation structure of the original Century Logistics office is kneaded and remoulded at this new facility into a dynamic configuration that can be described by these words:
#village #movement #interaction #chillax #industrial
By Design, common spaces and functions are distributed across the central void of 3 storeys for visual openness, orientation and to promote optimal interaction of staff between departments and across the 3 floors. Co-workers across different departments or sections walk along ‘alleys and streets’ to the ‘public domain’ or ‘town plaza’ for meetings, discussions and breakouts. Traditional barriers and partitions are torn down and replaced with social domains and implied territory. Analogous to a town, nodes and meeting points occur at junctions, corners and plazas - the workplace casual discussion areas, meeting ‘structures’, breakout spaces for refreshments, meals, relaxation and exercise very much so emulate such typological and social pattern. Materials, colours and forms reinforce the perception of the ‘town structure’ expressed through the aesthetics of industrial/ logistics elements, while lighting reinforce this intent.
