Greenwoods Belian _Gallery & Community Ground
Project Data
Location : Greenwoods, Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, Selangor
Completion Date : 2018
Client : Paramount Property Development Sdn Bhd
By Design, placing people at the core, through participation and association it brings forth a sense of belonging, ownership and identity - based on the principles of defensible space and CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) and anchored by the developer’s sales gallery - we set to create a place for social interaction, learning and community activities:
#meet (for functions, events) #eat and drink (cafe, stalls) #to learn new skills
#exchange ideas (aquaponic, urban farming) #play (bespoke play structures, skatepark)
The Gallery anchors the site and activates the placemaking programs. It is a humble, unashamedly low-scale ‘industrial looking’ shed that opens up to the plaza like a host - a showcase of reusing timber from a century-old factory. Analogously the selection of materials and aesthetics reflect the language of aged-industrial elements - found in the patinated timber, steel mesh, and flooring.
