By Design, it is a public space installation erected in collaboration with UN Habitat for the World Urban Forum, WUF9 Kuala Lumpur. It advocates and sets examples on these aspects:
#catalyst for public interaction and gathering
#infusing the experience of urban sights & sounds
#use of recycled industrial products
#portable and demountable
Urban Symphony entails broadcasting and receiving sounds through an orchestrated composition of coloured UPVC pipes, elbow joints and funnels - akin to an abstract ensemble. Closer interaction allows people to talk to each other much like the children’s telephone contraption. Warehouse storage palettes made from recycled materials form ad hoc and convention challenging notion of public seating and social group pattern of interaction, while tape-art add a new dimension of directing views, attention and, delineating space and movement in a fresh and cheeky undertone, reminding people of metro transport maps.
